on film

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

it’s been a while since i developed anything on film, but i’m loving this roll that just got processed.  big waves on a stormy beach, little boys in the sand and daffodils.

raspberries please!

we celebrated ben's birthday at the raspberry farm in christmas hill. we had a lovely lunch followed by even lovelier desserts. the farm makes the BEST jam, and i couldn't leave without buying some to take back home (nevermind that it weighs a tonne hehe). the sun was shining, the bumblebees were out and all in all it was a beautiful day!

while in tasmania, ria, christine and elise put on a baby shower for katie. elise made her yummy cupcakes, and christine made a lovely display of glass bottles filled with queen anne's lace and sweet peas, complete with a cute teapot. i was told afterwards that christine's teapot collection is often raided for special occasions :)

i love how everything was styled on the table - it reminded me of the many magazines and blogs i've often perused and thought, "i wish i could do that". you girlies made everything look so lovely!

ps. how cute are the little jelly bean feet on the cupcakes!

my dear mother has the loveliest rose garden, and at the moment it is in full bloom. i spent a grey skied afternoon doing a little pruning, and ended up with a few blossoms myself. i love how all the colours blend together...it reminds me of a sunset...

blossom2

for all the lovely comments and feedback i've been getting! i'll try not to gush in a bloggy way, but all the comments on this blog, through emails and in real life, talking to people, really make my day.

seeing as my last attempt at a competition failed (okay, apart from the 2 outstanding entries!!) i'm going to make it easier for you.

leave a comment on this post - give me a reason, send me a postcard, tell me a story - and you might find these blossoms flying your way :)

room of requirement

Friday, August 7, 2009

last week katie and ben came for a lovely visit. staying for a couple weeks, they sort of set up camp in the yellow room. katie bought a few vintage vases, put some yellow flowers in them and bought some pretty fabric..combined with my suitcase and a bit of film love, it all made quite a nice combination. i think perhaps the vases were too heavy to take home, because they're still floating around - it's a nice piece of memory to have.

ps. only a couple more days left to get your entries into my competition!

august arrives

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

i haven't posted in a while! it's now august - only one month before spring decides to pop its head around the corner. i'm currently on prac at a highschool, so my daily hours are spent planning and teaching the kiddies! however, i did find time recently to shoot off the rest of a negected roll of film and get it processed. i like some in this set very much :) i hope you enjoy them as well - i'll post a few more, hopefully before the week is out!
