while in tasmania, ria, christine and elise put on a baby shower for katie. elise made her yummy cupcakes, and christine made a lovely display of glass bottles filled with queen anne's lace and sweet peas, complete with a cute teapot. i was told afterwards that christine's teapot collection is often raided for special occasions :)
i love how everything was styled on the table - it reminded me of the many magazines and blogs i've often perused and thought, "i wish i could do that". you girlies made everything look so lovely!
ps. how cute are the little jelly bean feet on the cupcakes!

happy birthday! here are some photographs from katie's birthday :) we spent all saturday baking and mixing (and tasting!) for the party on sunday morning. we even made some bunting out of katie's cute fabric (the non-edible kind ben).
despite the fresh gusty wind, it was a very enjoyable day, and it was go nice to be there for my sister's birthday - and to hand over all the presents from w.a!
dessert

a little while ago i was invited to a dessert party! one of the coolest ideas i've come across. we started off with a light dinner, and progressed to fruit kebabs, brandy snaps, blue berry cheesecakes, not to mention smotherings of chocolate mousse over everything :)

ps. please don't drool on your keyboard :)

yes, i'm just trying to make you hungry :) i don't know what it is, but i love taking pictures of food. over the last week or so i've made pear and berry crumble, dabbled in some cake decorating and shared turkish apple tea with my lovely friend nicole (i love how the napkin matches the painted wall)
i hope you like these - they were shot with the old '86 olympus slr and a trusty roll of kodak gold.
what do you like to bake?
