i love that my camera has video on it! i've done quite a bit of filming from when i went to busselton and when chantelle and family came to visit - most of the videos were of caden, so i decided to put them all together :)

tall tales of flowers true

there were pretty flowers in my garden
but it wouldn't seem quite right
if i took them out that garden
where they couldn't see the light

but i did it all the same
took them with my own hands
now they're sitting by my beside
you couldn't say i didn't care

they looked pretty for weeks
heard my sweet song every day
i don't know if thats the reason
why they seemed to fade away

now they sit there withering
in the fading light
don't look at me that way
i gave them a chance of life

i didn't realise
that i'd disconnected
some vital organs, i should have just bought them
then i wouldn't feel so bad

it's nice not having to do anything every once in a while. today i took a spontaneous trip outside with marie and discovered a lovely tree! the air was very crisp and refreshing and my face was tingling when i got back home - you should try it sometime - just remember to wear socks!

all the colours of the rainbow

these are some of the flowers in my mum's garden - i tried to find all the colours of the rainbow, and i think i got there! i love the way they all look together - who says its winter? hope this cheers up your day!

buttons!

after two weeks of studying and exams its nice to sit back and do something creative! on saturday afternoon i set up a table outside in the sunshine and made a few cards. (someone might be getting one of these in a few days time hehe).



the first card i made i used some material that i found at an op shop a little while ago - if you like using material for cards, second hand shops are gold mines for cheap fabric that is "vintage" or has cool patterns. i think this particular piece was an old sheet or a pillow case. it was probably about 50 cents! i also dug out my tube of buttons that i got for $1, also from the op shop - i found three buttons that matched the material perfectly! i stamped up a piece of card and wrapped some twine around it, putting little knots every now and then. usually i would sew the buttons onto the fabric but i couldn't be bothered this time so i just stuck them with double sided tape - hopefully they stay on!



for the second card i needed a little more inspiration. i had to look no further than the scarf that i was wearing around my neck! i tipped out all of my buttons on the table (half of them fell through the cracks and on the pavement..silly me) and tried to match the buttons to the colours on the scarf. i wrapped some twine around the card, in a similar way to the first card, and attached the buttons randomly along the twine. i love the way this card complements the colours on the scarf!

the road to somewhere

a little while ago tim and i went for a saturday drive through the hills and stumbled upon a cute little cafe situated over a giant dam. the sky was clear, the leaves were all colourful and the scones were warm - perfect :)

these pictures were taken in autumn, when the leaves were changing colour and the air was getting a little chilly. we're still having sunny days now even though it is june, but the rain is starting to set in.

busy studying for exams! a picture taken by nicole on her phone on her birthday! to celebrate we went out for dinner and took silly photos in a cafe :) it's wonderful to have such good friends :)
