jump for joy!

this is my one hundred and first post! 101 - wow! thank you to all those who pop their head around here every once in a while and leave a friendly comment! i appreciate every single one of my visitors, and have had lots of kind words :)

in order to celebrate the occasion, i decided it might be nice to give something away (a pretty picture, perhaps)...however, first you must take a picture of your own jump for joy! into a swimming pool, off a cliff, advertising for toyota...the possibilities are endless. the most ingenious and creative entry (as chosen by someone other than myself to avoid bias, of course) will recieve a little gift! the winner will be chosen in 2 weeks time! so get snapping!

this past week i have been a busy little squirrel! i found this gorgeous little site that showed me how to make a little to-do note folder. it was lots of fun to make and i love how it fits neatly into the back of my 'everything-and-anything' notebook. best thing of all, when you cut out the template you can decorate it any way you wish. i've covered it in brown paper and stamped a torn piece of white cardstock with this stamp. real cute :)

apple of the eye

a little bit of pink to lighten or perhaps brighten up your day. it's rather rainy at the moment!
i took these pictures last weekend at my oma's birthday party. i went outside and took lots of pictures of their garden and iconic verandah which i will hopefully be featuring soon on into my window. the chinese apple tree always reminds me of summer afternoons sitting in their front yard playing with my cousins and picking off the fruit to make all kinds of weird and wonderful concoctions...can you remember it too?

nice one, confucius! this is my big old brown suitcase. it's waiting for something...maybe for someone to fill it up and take it exploring! someday soon :) for now, it can just look pretty sitting among the trees...

frock

i found this dress at an op shop for three bucks! it was mighty long but dear mother cut and hemmed it for me :) i love the little pearls at the back and the swishy fabric. i've seen so many awesome photos by some really talented photographers of dresses hanging in doorways or windows with lots of light coming through, so i decided to give it a shot myself. i think they turned out okay, although if you have a pretty wardrobe full of frocks i'd be happy to shoot them for you to get some practice!
